How To Obtain Additional Leads For Your Business

From time to time, I am sure all businesses go about looking to obtain additional leads. The question is; where do we go to gain these leads? The answer to this question is that there are a number of places that we can go to attract new business and in this article I will be writing about these different options.

I have worked within the insurance industry for most of my working life. As I am sure most people are aware, insurance brokers are paid via commission and at times these earnings can be quite substantial. For this reason, the broker I work for has a number of what are called insurance introducers. These are basically people who refer their friends, family and other contacts that they have, to our company in return for a percentage of this commission. This has worked very well for us in the past and is a practice that we are thinking of expanding in the future.

There is also an exciting new development in the insurance world which is the birth of a new website called leadbay. This is a site which is quite similar to ebay and is where mortgage brokers/companies can bid on leads that are put up for auction. This is quite a new concept but is one that I am confident will prove to be very popular and successful. I would like to congratulate the people who thought of this quality idea.

Another idea which has worked very well for our company is being a member of the local breakfast club. This has helped us to meet a lot of interesting and valuable contacts who we now regularly receive referrals from and to whom we are also able to refer our own clients to. The breakfast is not bad either!

These are just a few of many ways that companies can go about gaining additional leads/business.

Genital warts or venereal warts appear as growths or bumps. They develop with sexual contact and are caused by a certain type of virus called the human papillomavirus or HPV. The ones caused by virus called the human papillomavirus are very common STD or sexually transmitted disease.

The symptoms show up in the form of venereal warts in the case of females, as lumps in and around the vagina or anus or in rare cases even the throat. The warts or venereal warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus may also appear internally, on the cervix. In the case of males, the genital or venereal warts form on the tip of the penis, groin, scrotum or the sensitive inner thigh. In appearance, the ones caused by virus called the human papillomavirus are either raised or flat out-growths that are skin colored.

Medical technology and the understanding of warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus involve the understanding and timely treatment of the small or large genitalia warts, which are sometimes clustered together.

They could be painless most of the time, but they can be painful in extreme cases. Their late appearance results in lost time before the genital warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus can even be noticed. It takes anything between several months and even years after the infection sets in for the earliest signs.

Many times, the symptoms don’t even appear at all! In the case of females, the human papillomavirus or HPV virus that cause genitalia warts or venereal warts results in changes in the cervix that subsequently leads to cancer of the cervix. The genital warts or venereal warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible with the help of medical technology.

In the case of males infected with genital warts or venereal warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus or HPV, the risk of cancer of the penis and the anus is maximized. They are highly contagious. They spread through direct skin-to-skin contact with an infected partner.

The genitalia warts or venereal warts caused by virus called the human papillomavirus are caused by strains 6, 11, 30, 42, 43, 44, 45, 51, 52 and 54 of genital HPV and types 6 and 11 are the worst types to get infected with.

Genital warts occur in clusters and can be very tiny or large masses. They also develop in the mouth or throat of a person who has had oral sex with an infected person. The viral particles penetrate the skin during sexual activity. Having sex with a HPV infected person leaves you vulnerable to becoming infected.

STD’s, Cardiomyopathy and Wilt Chamberlain

He was the greatest basketball player and possibly the greatest athlete who ever lived. The 63-year-old Wilt Chamberlain was reported to have died of a heart attack, but that tells you nothing. You are supposed to ask why the world’s greatest athlete would die of a heart attack?

He was born in 1936, in Philadelphia. He was 6-11 when he entered Philadelphia’s Overbrook High School, led them to three public school championships and two all-city titles, Chamberlain became one of the most recruited players ever with more than 200 colleges interested, scored more than 100 points in a single National Basketball Association game and averaged more than 30 points a game throughout his professional career. However, when he was in high school, he was the best high school quarter miler in the United States and ran under 48 second. He also high jumped over 6 feet, five inches and was the best shot putter in Pennsylvania. He remained active after his NBA career and was considered an outstanding volleyball player. He also ran in the Honolulu marathon and competed in a 50-mile race in Canada.

Long after his career ended, Chamberlain made news by claiming in an autobiography that he had had sex with 20,000 women. Let’s see how good you are in diagnosing disease. Chamberlain’s health first became an issue in the 1960s, when a former coach told the news media that the star player might have had a heart attack before the 1964 season. But Chamberlain denied it. In 1992, when Chamberlain gathered with former teammates for a halftime ceremony marking the anniversary of their 1971-72 NBA championship, he had to leave early because he was having trouble breathing. He was admitted to a hospital and found to have an irregular heart beat. He was released from the hospital after three days wearing a heart monitoring device.

During his last years, he was diagnosed as having cardiomyopathy which means that his heart was too weak to pump blood through his body and he lost 50 pounds in the months prior to his death. There are three causes of a weak heart muscle. Lack of nutrients, blocked arteries, and infection.
You can suffer from a nutritional deficiency such as beriberi caused by lack of the vitamin thiamine or pellagra caused by lack of the vitamin niacin. This is almost impossible today in North America. The second possible cause of a failing heart is blocked arteries caused by arteriosclerosis and he did not have a very high cholesterol and he did not have arteriosclerosis. The third possibility is an infection in his heart caused by such bacteria as chlamydia and mycoplasma.

The fact that he lost 50 pounds and was unable to go anywhere in the last months of his life point to a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy, that’s heart muscle damage, caused by infection with chlamydia or mycoplasma, from making love to considerably less than the 20,000 women that he claimed. That comes to 500 women per year, or 10 differnt women per week for 40 years, which would make the world’s greatest athlete, the most prolific lover of all time. Cardiomyopathy is often caused by chlamydia.

Chamberlain’s body was cremated, so we will never know for sure how he died.

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Condoms

Posted by STD Testing | Posted in STD, STD Examining | Posted on 26-12-2008

Along with many issues surrounding sex, condoms are still a bit of a taboo in polite society. But as well as preventing pregnancy, condoms help prevent the transmission of most sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

However, despite the dangers of unprotected sex, statistics from STD tests show that condoms are not used as often as they could be.

Perhaps if we just got to know them a little better, we’d feel more comfortable about using them. With that in mind, here are 10 of the most interesting things about condoms.

1 – Condoms were used by ancient civilisations

Although the subject is disputed amongst archaeologists and historians, some experts claim that condoms appeared in cave paintings going back 15,000 years. The oldest known representation of a condom in use is in a painting in the Grotte des Combarrelles cave in France. Also, societies in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome preferred small families and are known to have practiced a variety of birth control methods.

2 – First known use against STDs

In medieval times there probably weren’t any reliable STD tests, nevertheless, most people would have known if they had one! It was therefore in 16th century Italy that Gabriele Falloppio wrote the first-known published description of condom use for STD prevention. He recommended soaking cloth sheaths in a chemical solution and allowing them to dry prior to use. Falloppio claimed to have performed an experimental trial of the linen sheath on 1100 men. The experiment supposedly indicated protection against syphilis.

3 – Oldest found condoms

The oldest condoms found (rather than just pictures or descriptions) are from 1640, discovered in Dudley Castle in England. They were made of animal intestine, and it is believed they were used for STD prevention.

4 – The Japanese made theirs out of tortoise shells

In 19th century Japan, both leather condoms and condoms made of tortoise shells or horns were available. Similar devices made from oiled silk paper have also been described in China.

5 – Dr Condom

The alleged invention of the condom by ‘Dr. Condom’ or the ‘Earl of Condom’ is believed to be false. It has also been hypothesized that a British army officer named Cundum popularized the device between 1680 and 1817. However, the true origin of the word is unknown.

6 – Time-consuming recipes

Condoms weren’t always so easily available. An 1824 text offers a recipe with twelve very time-consuming steps involved in making condoms from sheep’s ‘intestina caeca.’ After that much effort, it is hardly surprising that early condoms were considered reusable.

7 – Condoms used to be available only by prescription

In the US, there was a time that condoms were available only by prescription. Doctors would prescribe them to men so that husbands could protect themselves against getting STDs from prostitutes. However, they wouldn’t prescribe them to women so they could prevent themselves from getting pregnant or for any other reason.

8 – Condoms have been sold in vending machines since 1928

The vending machine condom celebrates its 80th anniversary in 2008, courtesy of the company who manufactured the first brand-name condom, Germany-based, Fromm’s. Their product, Fromm’s Act, not only appeared in vending machines first – they also, somewhat bizarrely, had Mickey Mouse as their pitchman.

9 – Invisible condoms

Clinical trials on the ‘invisible’ condom, in fact a gel that hardens with increased temperatures, have been carried out by Quebec’s Laval University. It is one of a number of products being developed which falls into the category of a female condom, some of which have received government approval. The Invisible Condom, however, is still awaiting approval.

10 – Spray-on condoms

German scientist Jan Vinzenz Krause of the Institute for Condom Consultation in Germany recently developed a spray-on condom that is currently in the stages of test marketing. Krause says that one of the advantages to his spray-on condom, which is reported to dry in about 5 seconds, is that it is perfectly formed to each penis.

Vaginal Sores

Vaginal sores are usually a symptom or sign of another problem such as a yeast infection or even genital warts. Sometimes it’s hard to know if you have sores, so you should have yourself seen by a doctor as soon as possible. It might be hard to know, because if you are suffering other symptoms of yeast infections such as itching in and around the vagina, tenderness, soreness, burning sensation during urination and sexual intercourse, pain during urination and intercourse, rash, redness of vagina and vulva; you might not know exactly what’s going on down there, except you are uncomfortable and probably in pain.

Vaginal sores embarrass the hell out of people, maybe because they associate them so sexually transmitted diseases (STD), I don’t know. What I do know is that women should get over the embarrassment and see their doctor as soon as they can. It is potentially dangerous to ignore the symptoms, even life threatening in some cases.

When you see your doctor, in most cases, you will get a pap smear done. Its better able to identify what the underlying problem is as they test for a variety of problems. When getting a pap smear done, a speculum is inserted into the vagina and widened to open it. A specimen brush that looks like a long cotton bud is used to swab the vaginal walls and is sent to testing. Many women are scared of this procedure, they feel its very violating, but its one of the best things you can do for yourself as a woman. When the results come back, you then know why you have vaginal sores, and a course of treatment can then begin.

Male infertility causes

Male infertility can be caused by a number of reasons, and testing will be carried out for various problems.

    * STD’s – Sexually transmitted diseases can cause problems with conception.
    * Genetic illness can cause infertility.
    * Hormone problems.
    * Vasectomy reversal.
    * Enlarged veins around the testicles.

    * There may also be a psychological reason behind the infertility.
    * Blockages in tubes can lead to low quantity or no sperm at all.
    * Poor sperm motility.
    * Malformed sperm.

There are course other male infertility causes. Recreational drugs can lower sperm quantity and quality, as can some prescribed medicines.

Smoking and drinking can also contribute towards male infertility.

Anabolic steroids can stop sperm production altogether. They may make your muscles look big, but that’s about the only plus point!

There is good news, male infertility can be treated. Sometimes you may get male infertility treatments on the NHS, or you may have to go to a specialist clinic. There are of course alternative treatments for male infertility. Some men swear by herbal treatments or acupuncture, just be sure to see a qualified practitioner.

Fishy Vaginal Odor – Bacterial Vaginosis

Posted by STD Testing | Posted in STD, STD Examining | Posted on 23-12-2008

Vaginal odor is usually caused from inflammation of the vaginal area. This is almost always a result of infection in or around the vagina. The most common infection that causes this fishy vaginal odor is bacterial aginosis.

What is bacterial vaginosis?

Bacterial vaginosis is an abnormal vaginal condition that is most often recognized by a fishy vaginal discharge. This is a result from an overgrowth of normal bacteria in the vagina. You may have heard of Gardnerella vaginitis. This is what this condition used to be called. It was named after the bacteria that was thought to cause the condition.

New research found that there are several different species of bacteria that live naturally in the vaginal area. Gardnerella is not the only bacteria causing all the odor. The name of this condition has been changed to bacteria vaginosis to reflect these new findings. When all the different species of bacteria become imbalanced, you will notice a vaginal discharge that is associated with a fishy odor.

Bacterial vaginosis is not a STD. It is not passed by sex. It is very embarrassing and disturbing but it is not dangerous. If you notice an unusual discharge, you should have it checked so you can rule out chlamydia and gonorrhea which are serious infections.

Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis?

The symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are a foul, fishy odor and a grayish white discharge. The amount of the discharge varies so there is no amount that is considered “normal”. There are no other symptoms. If you have a vaginal discharge that is abnormal for you, it is a good idea to see a health practitioner to rule out all other conditions. Some women with bacterial vaginosis will experience no symptoms at all.

What causes bacterial vaginosis?

Current research has determined it is an imbalance of natural vaginal bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis. The problem is it is not possible to determine which bacteria is out of balance. Consequently, locating the offending bacteria and eradicating it is not a solution.

How is bacterial vaginosis diagnosed?

Generally, your doctor will perform a pelvic exam to rule out other, more serious, problems. A sample of the discharge will be collected to examine under a microscope. Bacterial vaginosis can be distinguished from other common problems, such as yeast, with this microscopic exam.

There is a particular test your doctor can perform called a “whiff test”. A drop of potassium hydroxide testing solution is added to the discharge. The result is usually a strong fishy odor.

How do you treat bacterial vaginosis?

The most common treatment for bacterial vaginosis is antibiotics. Usually, onecourse of treatment is successful. A small percentage of women will experience recurrent symptoms within a month. Consequently, a second course of antibiotics will be prescribed.

As women, we know that taking antibiotics to cure this problem will almost absolutely cause another problem, yeast infection. This is why more and more women are seeking natural, herbal remedies for this problem. With the antibiotics, you are trading one problem for another, more difficult, problem.

Are there complications of bacterial vaginosis?

Once bacterial vaginosis is treated, the problem is usually over. No special follow-up is necessary if the symptoms disappear. The infection is not transmitted sexually so sexual partners need not be treated.

If you are pregnant, bacterial vaginosis can cause premature labor, premature birth, infection of the amniotic fluid, and infection of the uterus. You doctor will probably test for bacterial vaginosis early in your pregnancy. Any unusual
discharge during pregnancy should be reported immediately to your doctor or mid-wife.

Is there a safe, natural remedy for bacterial vaginosis?

Enzara, a product manufactured by Selmedica Healthcare, is a great natural remedy for bacterial vaginosis. It eliminates the need for antibiotics so you can treat your problem without getting another problem.
